PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. -- Northwestern's doubles team of Alex Chatt and Maddie Lipp stayed alive in the main draw doubles consolation bracket with a victory on Friday in the Riviera Women's All-American Tennis Championships at Riviera Tennis Club.
Chatt and Lipp were victorious in their first match of the consolation bracket, defeating the team of Jessica Failla and Gabby Smith of USC, 8-6. With the victory, the Wildcats' duo advances to the quarterfinal round Saturday morning where they'll face off against Oklahoma State's Viktoriya Lushkova and Carla Tur Mari.
In the singles main draw, Lipp suffered a loss in the round of 16 to third-seeded Maegan Manasee of California 6-3, 6-0.
