Defending Champion Wu Returns to Gifford With Wildcats

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern men's golf will travel next week to La Costa Resort in Carlsbad, Calif. for the 11th Annual Gifford Collegiate, from Nov. 2 to Nov. 4. The tournament will take place on the resort's 6,996-yard par-71 Legends Course.
 
Sophomore Dylan Wu is the defending individual champion after winning the tournament his freshman year with a nine-under 204. UCLA, the tournament host, is the defending team champion.
 
Northwestern will compete against a 15-field team consisting of Arkansas, Colorado, Harvard, Marquette, Oregon, San Diego State, San Jose State, Stanford, Tennessee, Texas A&M, UCLA, USF, Washington and Wisconsin.
 
The 'Cats will head into the tournament off a third-place finish at the Bridgestone Golf Collegiate, there they shot a 4-under 860 as a team. Senior Andrew Whalen led Northwestern with a season-best 3-under 213, while Josh Jamieson finished at 1-under.
