EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern's Charlotte Martin and Lisa McCarthy have been chosen as participants in the 2015 NFHCA Division I Senior Game to be played Saturday, Nov. 21 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Martin and McCarthy are among the 38 individuals selected to take part in the contest at the University of Michigan in conjunction with the NCAA semifinals and championship game that weekend.
Martin has been a steadying influence on the Northwestern midfield over the last four seasons. She has started all 81 possible games throughout her collegiate career, posting three goals and 31 assists. The 31 assists rank tied for eighth in school history. Martin was named an NFHCA first-team All-West Region honoree and a second-team All-Big Ten choice as a junior in 2014.
Like Martin, McCarthy has started all 81 matches as a reliable defender in the back. Her 52 career assists rank her second in Northwestern history in the category. She also has contributed 16 goals for a total of 84 points, ranking her No. 13 all-time at NU. A second-team NFHCA All-American and first-team All-Big Ten pick a year ago, McCarthy was the 2012 Big Ten Freshman of the Year, has earned second-team all-conference honors twice and is a three-time All-West Region selection.
Northwestern (12-6, 4-3 Big Ten) is ranked No. 16 in this week's Penn Monto/NFHCA Poll and closes out its regular season at 3 p.m. Friday with a home match against Penn State at Lakeside Field.
