TULSA, Okla. – Northwestern junior Sam Shrophshire is still alive at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla. after a three set win in the consolation semifinals of the main draw.
The 34th-ranked Shropshire beat No. 44 Stefan Lindmark of Ole Miss after splitting the first two sets and then holding on for a 7-6 (2) win in the decisive third frame.
Since dropping his first match in the main draw, Shropshire has rattled off three straight wins to advance through the consolation bracket.
He will face Ohio State's Mikael Torpegaard in the final at 9 a.m. tomorrow.
