"Coach Fitzgerald consistently reinfornces the importance of focus in the classroom and dedication to the community while also pushing his players to perform on the field," Chairman of the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Founding Jim Terry said in a press release. "We're proud to recognize his leadership and look forwards to seeing his continued success this season.

The Wildcats return to the field this Saturday when they host Eastern Illinois. The game will be broadcast on ESPN News and WatchESPN and is set to kick off at 3 p.m.
