EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern women's golf will open the 2015 campaign ranked No. 12 on Golfweek's Preseason Top-30, the site announced this week. The reigning Big Ten champions return four of the five golfers that propelled the group to a program-best 10th-place finish at the 2014 NCAA Championships.

Head coach Emily Fletcher's roster this season will feature four golfers that earned All-Big Ten honors last year, and a fifth that captured the 2015 Big Ten Individual Championship.

  • Senior Suchaya Tangkamolprasert not only earned First Team All-Big Ten recognition, but became the first Wildcats golfer to ever be honored as both a WGCA All-American and an All-American Scholar. Tangkamolprasert finished her junior season with a 10th-place finish at the 2015 NCAA Women's Golf Championships, the highest individual finish in program history.
  • Senior Kaitlin Park took home All-Big Ten honors for a third straight season and qualified to compete at the 2015 Meijer LPGA Classic this summer.
  • Junior Kacie Komoto earned First Team All-Big Ten honors and a Top-3 finish at the 85th Annual Trans National Women's Amateur
  • Sophomore Hannah Kim was honored as both the Big Ten Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year in her rookie season, and won bronze with Team USA at the 2015 World University Games.
  • Sophomore Sarah Cho won the 2015 Big Ten Individual Championship at Indianapolis' The Fort Golf Resort.

In addition to the awards piled up by Wildcats student-athletes, Fletcher took home her third Big Ten Coach of the Year honor while assistant Beth Miller was selected as the 2015 WGCA Assistant Coach of the Year. The coaches have guided Northwestern to three straight appearances in the NCAA Championships, and six consecutive Regional berths.

Northwestern women's golf opens the 2015 campaign at the Dick McGuire Invitational on Sept. 15 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
