Big Ten Announces 2015-16 Basketball Schedules

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Big Ten Conference released its men's and women's basketball league schedules for the upcoming 2015-16 season. Tip times and television designations for all games will be announced in the upcoming weeks.
 
The men's squad will open Big Ten play with four of its first six games at Welsh-Ryan Arena, while the second half of the conference season closes with two of the final three league games at home. The Wildcats will tip off league play at Nebraska on December 30 before the Cornhuskers will return the trip to close the regular season on March 6.
 
The 2016 Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament will be played at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana starting Wednesday March 9. The Big Ten Tournament championship is scheduled for Sunday, March 13.
 
Third-year head coach Chris Collins welcomes back all five starters from last year's squad, including All-Big Ten selections Tre Demps and Alex Olah as well as Big Ten All-Freshman Team selection Bryant McIntosh.

Men's Season Ticket Information: Regular reserved seats are available for $294, a 45 percent savings off single-game prices. Northwestern University faculty and staff can purchase season tickets for $246, while NU young alumni and graduate student tickets are just $153. Season ticket holders also have the opportunity to purchase additional single-game tickets for all home games before they go on sale to the general public.

On the women's side, the Wildcats open their conference slate by ringing in the New Year at Penn State on Dec. 31, before returning home to Welsh-Ryan arena for a pair of games against Nebraska (Jan. 3) and Purdue (Jan. 7). The 'Cats close out their regular-season when they face the Huskers once again on February 28 in Lincoln, Nebraska.
 
The 2016 Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament, which will also be played at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, will begin on March 2. The tournament championship is slated for Sunday, March 6.
 
The women's squad is coming off a season that saw a 23-9 overall record, which marked the program's most victories since the 1995-96 season. NU received a bid to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1997 and, in February 2015, entered the Associated Press top-25 poll for the first time since 1996.

Women's Season Ticket Information: Season tickets cost just $49, while youth are $29. A $99 season-ticket family plan also is on sale, granting admission to two adults and three children for each game.

Season tickets for the 2015-16 campaign are on sale now through NUSports.com and by calling 888-GO-PURPLE.  Orders for additional single-game tickets can only be placed over the phone. The on-sale date for single-game tickets will be announced at a later date.
