CHICAGO – In an effort to build team chemistry and explore the Windy City, the Northwestern women's soccer team recently completed a city-wide scavenger hunt. Four groups were sent out to complete several tasks and were required to take a photo at each stop to earn points.

Each team, named after an a-list celebrity, was given a list of locations and activities with a different point value, ranging from 25 to 50 points. The scavenger hunt started and ended at Patten Gymnasium on campus and lasted approximately four hours.

Throughout the hunt, teams were asked to find the location of popular buildings, attractions, monuments and historical markers around Chicago. Some high-point locations included Navy Pier, Willis Tower, the Lincoln Park Zoo and the Under Armour Chicago Brand House.

Teams were able to earn bonus points by taking photos with Northwestern fans around the city, playing mini 3 vs. 3 soccer games with city-goers and eating lunch at any non-chain restaurant downtown. The entire team participated in the event, which served as a team bonding activity and a way to introduce the newcomers to Chicago.

The Northwestern soccer team returns to action with an exhibition game at DePaul on Saturday, Aug. 15. The Wildcats will then kick off the 2015 season on Aug. 21, against North Dakota at New Trier High School.
