Wildcats Draw No. 8 Seed, Will Host Louisville in First Round

2015 NCAA DIVISION I NCAA WOMEN'S LACROSSE TOURNAMENT BRACKET

EVANSTON, Ill. --
Seven-time NCAA champion Northwestern has earned the No. 8 seed and will host Louisville in the first round of 2015 NCAA Division I Women's Lacrosse Tournament following a 12-6 regular season.

Also heading to Lakeside Field on the shores of Lake Michigan are Notre Dame and Ohio State, who will meet in the secondgame of a doubleheader on Friday, May 8 starting at 3:30 p.m. CT.The winner of Ohio State and Notre Dame will meet the winner of No. 8 Northwestern and Louisville in the second round on Sunday, May 10 at 1 p.m. CT.

The Wildcats are no strangers to the three squads visiting Evanston this weekend asthey defeated Louisville, Notre Dame and Ohio State during the regular season. The 'Cats defeated the Cards on March 29 at Lakeside Field, 12-10.

Louisville finished the regular season with a 10-7 record and was ousted in the first round of the ACC Tournament by Duke, 14-7. Tewaarataon nominee Kaylin Morissette leads the Cards with 59 points (42 g, 17 a) while ranking second in the country with 10.47 draw controls per game.

This year marks the 17th all-time berth in the NCAA Tournament for the seven-time national champion Wildcats, and the 12th in Kelly Amonte Hiller's storied 14-year career as head coach of the 'Cats. Amonte Hiller is 36-4 in her career in the NCAA Tournament -- representing the most wins and the best winning percentage in Division I women's lacrosse postseason history -- and this season is setting her sights on guiding Northwestern to a 11th consecutive appearance in the national semifinals and eighth national championship

Tickets to the game will be sold at the entrance to Lakeside Field at a cost of $8 for adults, $5 for youth and senior citizens and $1 for infants. All Northwestern students will be admitted FREE with presentation of a valid WildCARD.
