EVANSTON, Ill. -- The sixth-ranked Northwestern Lacrosse program will look to extend its winning streak to three games when it hosts No. 11 Penn at Lakeside Field on Sunday at noon.

The Wildcats are coming off their first Big Ten win on Thursday when they defeated Michigan, 17-8, to improve to 7-3 on the season. The Quakers enter the contest with a near perfect record of 9-1, with their only loss of the season coming at the hands of top-ranked Maryland. The 'Cats hold a 12-2 lead in the all-time series and have won each of the last eight meetings.

#B1GCats Dominate Michigan
The sixth-ranked `Cats went into Michigan Stadium Thursday night and dominated the Wolverines to pick up their first Big Ten win. The Wildcats, led by freshman Shelby Fredericks' season-high nine, dominated the draw circle, finishing with a 23-4 advantage. The domination in the circle led to plenty of opportunities, as freshman Selena Lasota matched her season highs with six goals and two assists for her first-career 8-point game. Senior Kara Mupo had four goals and junior Kaleigh Craig had three.

For The First Time
Not only did Northwestern pick up its first-ever Big Ten win on Thursday night, but a handful of players recorded career firsts in the process. Freshman Emily Stein recorded her first career assist, while classmates Hayley Ciklin and Iona Dryden scored their first career goals. Northwestern has now had six of its 14-member freshman class score at least one goal this season.

Scouting the Quakers
The 11th-ranked Penn program enters Sunday's game with a 9-1 record, with its lone loss of the season coming to top-ranked Maryland, 12-7. The Quakers are led offensively by Tory Bensen (38 p, 34 g, 4 a) and Nina Corcoran (36 p, 15 g, 21 a) and defensively by goalkeeper Lucy Ferguson (.529 save %, 6.39 ga-avg). Penn is outscoring its opponents 11.4-to-6.4 this season, has held four opponents to five goals or less and two different opponents to just one goal.

An Even 40
Freshman Selena Lasota scored six goals for the second time this season on Thursday, bringing her season total through the first 10 games to 40. As of Friday, April 3, she ranked third in the country in goals per game, fourth in the country in total goals and 14th in the country in points per game. In addition to her six-goal performance at Michigan, Lasota also matched her season high with a pair of assists to finish with her first career 8-point game.

Messin' With Mupo
Senior Kara Mupo opened the season by matching her career high with five goals and surpassing 100 career goals. Unfortunately, a minor injury slowed things down as she missed a pair of games against No. 2 North Carolina and Colorado. Since returning to the lineup, Mupo has scored 14 goals over the past four games, including four in each of the last two. Mupo is second on the team with 20 goals and is the `Cats' career active leader with 118.
