EVANSTON, Ill. -- Ninth-ranked Northwestern is making its fifth appearance at the Bryan National Collegiate co-hosted by UNC Greensboro and Wake Forest this Friday through Sunday, April 3-5, at the Bryan Park Golf and Enrichment Center's Champions Course.
Northwestern is the top-ranked squad among the 18-team field, which also includes top-20 opponents No. 12 Virginia, No. 13 Wake Forest, No. 18 Vanderbilt and No. 19 Florida. Rankings are from the most current Golfstat.com data.
The teams will play 18 holes on each day of the three-day event, with tee times getting things started Friday and Saturday before a 7:30 a.m. CT/8:30 a.m. ET shotgun start for Sunday's final round. Northwestern is paired with Virginia and Vanderbilt in the first tee times off No. 1 for Friday's opening round.
The Champions Course at Bryan Park will play to a par-72, 6,386-yard layout for the 18th annual staging of this tournament. NU is competing for the fifth time with all of its appearances coming in 2010 and after. While the Wildcats have become one of the nation's top programs in that time, the Bryan National Collegiate has been a tough nut to crack for the 'Cats; their best team finish was an eighth-place result in 2012.
Northwestern is just five days removed from its last tournament, which was a fourth-place finish at Georgia's Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic. That field boasted six of the nation's current top-10, and the Wildcats face more power programs this weekend in North Carolina. In addition to senior Hana Lee (Seoul, South Korea/Wilson (Calif.)), junior Suchaya Tangkamolprasert (Bangkok, Thailand/Bromsgrove International School), sophomore Kacie Komoto (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou) and freshman Hannah Kim (Chula Vista, Calif./Otay Ranch), freshman Sarah Cho (San Diego, Calif./Torrey Pines) joins the NU roster this weekend, marking her third collegiate event as part of the Northwestern team lineup.
Live results for this tournament will be provided by Golfstat.com.
