EVANSTON, Ill. -- The sixth-ranked Wildcats will play their fourth-straight game on the Big Ten Network on Thursday when they travel to the University of Michigan to battle the Wolverines inside `The Big House.'

The `Thursday Night Game of the Week' will be the second meeting between the two programs, with Northwestern holding a 1-0 edge in the series with a 20-6 win in Ann Arbor last season. Mike Wolf and Courtney Connor will be on the call for BTN.

Messin' With Mupo
Senior Kara Mupo opened the season with a bang, matching her career high with five goals only to be sidelined with an injury for a pair of games a couple weeks later. Since returning against Syracuse on March 22, Mupo has tallied 10 goals in three games, including five against the Orange and four against No. 10 Louisville, both wins for the `Cats. Mupo was named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List at the beginning of the season and is the Wildcats' career leader in goals (114) and points (134).

No Ordinary Freshman Class
Head Coach Kelly Amonte Hiller signed the top-rated class in the country in the offseason and it hasn't taken long them to make their impact felt on the field. A freshman currently leads the `Cats statistically in every category but draw controls, which is led by sophomore Sheila Nesselbush.

- Goals: Selena Lasota (34)
- Assists: Shelby Fredericks (8)
- Points: Selena Lasota (37)
- Ground Balls: Lindsay Darrel (19)
- Caused Turnovers: Selena Lasota (12)

Technically, They're Free
Freshman Selena Lasota and senior Kara Mupo have been nearly unstoppable in free-position opportunities this season, combining to go 13-for-16 (81.2 percent). Lasota is 7-for-9 on the year, while Mupo is 6-for-7 following her 2-for-2 performance in the Wildcats' 12-10 win over Louisville last Sunday. As a team, the `Cats are 50 percent (19-for-38) on free-position shots this season.

Scouting the Wolverines
Michigan enters Thursday's contest 5-5 overall and 0-1 in Big Ten play following a 13-5 loss to No. 18 Ohio State in its conference opener. The Wolverines are in just their second season as a program under head coach Jennifer Ulehla. Offensively, U of M is led by Kim Coughlan (22 g, 4 a) and Jess Angerman (21 g, 5 a) with 26 points apiece, while Anna Schueler (20 g, 5 a) is also key. Allison Silber has started all 10 games for the Wolverines in the cage, posting a 10.93 goals-against average and .384 save percentage. Schueler leads Michigan with 34 draw controls and is tied for the team lead with Madeline Dion with 22 ground balls. Dion has caused the most turnovers on the team with 18.
