EVANSTON, Ill. -- Chicago's Big Ten Team returns home this weekend to open its 2015 Chicagoland schedule with a noon CT doubleheader Saturday, March 14, against IUPUI at The Ballpark at Rosemont in Rosemont, Ill.

NU will open its Evanston schedule at Sharon J. Drysdale Field March 27-29 against Wisconsin, and tickets are available now for that series and the rest of the Wildcats' home schedule. Flex ticket plans for games at "The J" are not necessary for Saturday's games with IUPUI.

The Ballpark at Rosemont is the home of the Chicago Bandits of National Pro Fastpitch. The franchise currently boasts two former Wildcats: two-time NPF Defensive Player of the Year Tammy Williams and 2014 All-NPF selection Emily Allard.

IUPUI enters this weekend with a stellar record of 14-4 in its third season under head coach Amanda Rivera, who served as Northwestern's volunteer assistant coach during the Wildcats back-to-back Women's College World Series semifinal appearances in 2006-07. Rivera returned to the NU coaching staff in 2012 , when the Wildcats advanced the NCAA Regional championship round in Austin, Texas.

Two-time #B1GCats All-American Adrienne Monka has been Rivera's assistant coach with the Jaguars since her graduation in 2012. Monka was a career .354 hitter with 55 home runs and holds school records for slugging (.747) and on-base percentage (.549).

After playing one of the nation's top nonconference schedules in its first month of competition, Northwestern returns home having won six of its last seven games. In particular, the Wildcats went down to Louisville on Sunday, March 8, for a pair of games and came away with wins by a combined score of 24-0, out-hitting their two opponents 32-3. Junior Kristen Wood earned Big Ten Pitcher of the Week honors after tossing the third no-hitter of her career in a 13-0 (5) victory over Ball State before the NU offense--led by four-hit efforts from Andrea Filler and Amy Letourneau--broke the school single-game record with 18 hits in an 11-0 win versus Louisville.

Filler and Letourneau lead a resurgent pack of Wildcats at the plate. Over NU's recent seven-game hot stretch, both are hitting over .540 with 10 RBIs and nine runs scored apiece. Letourneau in particular has flipped the switch, crushing four home runs in that time frame while going 5-0 in the circle. Seniors Andrea DiPrima and Julia Kuhn have been equally impressive, with DiPrima leading Northwestern at the plate with a .431 average on the season with Kuhn hit .714 in two games last weekend with five RBIs to bring her 2015 average at the plate all the way up to .353.

In the field, Northwestern is on pace for a record-breaking year. The Wildcats currently have a .973 fielding percentage led by exceptional play at short (Filler) and first (Kuhn). Both Kuhn and Anna Edwards at third base have yet to be charged with an error on the season.
