EVANSTON, Ill. - Redshirt junior guard Tre Demps and junior center Alex Olah have been named honorable mention All-Big Ten selections while guard Bryant McIntosh has earned a spot on the Big Ten All-Freshman Team.

Demps was a consensus pick as he was selected by both the league's head coaches and media members. The San Antonio, Texas, native leads the Wildcats with an average of 12.8 points per game and has come on strong at the tail end of the season. Demps is averaging 16.0 points per game over the last eight contests while shooting 54.1 percent from the field, including 52.6 percent from 3-point range. Demps had three 20-point games in Big Ten play this season, including matching a career high with 23 points in a victory over Indiana Feb. 25. He has continued his career-long trend of hitting clutch shots, including hitting game-tying 3-pointers in the final seconds of regulation and the first overtime in a double-overtime victory over Michigan on March 3.

Olah was a selection of the league's media members. The seven-footer from Timsoara, Romainia, ranks third in the Big Ten with seven double-doubles this season. He is second on the Wildcats with an average of 11.7 points per game and first with an average of 6.9 rebounds per contest, a mark that ranks fifth in the Big Ten. Olah also is second in the league with an average of 1.8 blocked shots per contest and became NU's all-time leader in the category this season. He scored a career-high 25 points in a win over Michigan March 3 and career-best 13 rebounds in a victory over Iowa Feb. 15. His 10 double-figure rebounding games this season are the most by a Wildcat since Evan Eschmeyer had 15 during the 1998-99 campaign.

McIntosh was named to the All-Freshman Team that is selected by the conference's head coaches. The New Castle, Ind., native ranks third on the team with an average of 11.4 points per game while ranking first on the squad and fifth in the Big Ten with an average of 4.7 assists per contest. McIntosh is tied with Demps for the team lead with 20 double-digit scoring games this season. His .848 free throw percentage is the best mark on the team. He is one of only four true freshmen in the nation averaging at least 11.0 points and 4.5 assists per game. McIntosh is the fifth Northwestern freshman since 2003 to receive the honor and the first since Dave Sobolewski in 2012.

In addition, JerShon Cobb was recognized as the team's Big Ten Sportsmanship Award recipient. The student-athletes chosen to receive the honor are individuals who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior.
