EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern returns to Miami's Hurricane Invitational March 2-4 at The Biltmore Golf Course in Coral Gables, Fla., as the defending champion after a romp through the field there one year ago.
Currently ranked seventh in the nation according to Golfstat.com, NU returns to the event where three current Wildcats placed in the top 15 to aid in a team victory. Current senior Hana Lee (Hacienda Heights, Calif./Wilson) was fifth last year while Kacie Komoto (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou) was seventh as a freshman and Kaitlin Park (Tustin, Calif./Beckman) took 13th while a sophomore.
The 2015 edition of the tournament features a 16-team field competing in 18 holes each day at the par-71, 6,070-yard Donald Ross designed Biltmore Course. The Wildcats are one of six Big Ten schools among a very deep field -- fully 14 of the 16 teams are ranked in the top-100 of the current Golfstat.com rankings, while one school is 119th and the other is Daytona State, an NJCAA program.

Northwestern is coming off a fourth-place finish at the Lady Puerto Rico to begin its spring season. Freshman Hannah Kim (Chula Vista, Calif./Otay Ranch) won her second Big Ten Golfer of the Week award this season following a runner-up finish at that tournament. Kim now is ranked as the No. 23 overall individual in the country.
