Complete Watch List
Evanston, Ill. -- The Tewaaraton Foundation has announced the 2015 Tewaaraton Award men's and women's watch lists. The lists include the top players across all three divisions of NCAA lacrosse and highlight the early contenders for the 2015 Tewaaraton Award, presented by Under Armour.
Northwestern seniors Bridget Bianco and Kara Mupo were two of the 50 players named to the watch list for the award presented annually to the top women's college lacrosse player.
Bianco is in her third year as the Wildcats' starting goalkeeper and was one of 25 final nominees for the award last season. She was a third-team All-American as a sophomore and earned NCAA All-Tournament team honors last season. The Moorestown, N.J., native currently sports a 3-1 record with a 8.81 goals-against average and made a season-high 10 saves in a 6-5 win over No. 6 Virginia on February 14.
Mupo, a fifth-year senior, is the Wildcats' active career leader in goals (104) and points (124). She ranked second on the team in goals (40) and points (50) last season. A native of Long Island, Mupo scored her 100th career goal in a five-goal performance to lead NU to victory at USC in the season opener.
Players not named to the initial list have several opportunities to play their way into a spot as the season progresses. Watch lists additions, if applicable, will be announced on March 19 and April 9. On April 23, the field will be narrowed to 25 men's and 25 women's nominees. Nominees can be players on the watch lists or players not on the watch lists, effectively allowing for a third round of additions. Five men's and five women's finalists will be announced on May 7 and invited to the ceremony. The Tewaaraton Award Ceremony will be held in Washington, D.C., on May 28, 2015, at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of the American Indian.
