LIVE RESULTS: 2015 Alex Wilson Invitational

SOUTH BEND, Ind.
-- After establishing ten personal records last weekend at the Grand Valley State University Big Meet, Northwestern cross country will look to carry that momentum into a very competitive Alex Wilson Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 21, at Notre Dame.

This weekend's event at the Loftus Center will feature runners from more than 50 colleges and universities, including Big Ten peers Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue and Wisconsin.

Rachel Weathered, who competed in the 3,000m event last week in Grand Rapids, will return to her more traditional One-Mile event on Saturday. The junior from Naperville, Ill., broke the 5:00 barrier for the first time in her career two weeks ago at the Meyo Invitational, running 4:58.33, the third-fastest mile for a Wildcats runner this spring.

Five `Cats will be in the field for this week's 3,000m race, led by Jena Pianin and Andrea Ostenso. Pianin has posted the two fastest Northwestern times in the event this season and ranks 14th in the Big Ten. Ostenso has run the Wildcats' two best times in the 5,000m and will take her first shot of the spring at the 3k on Saturday. Teammates Isabel Seidel, Ellen Schmitz and Megan O'Brien will also look to build upon strong efforts in the GVSU Big Meet last week.

In addition to the action in South Bend, a group of Wildcats runners will be competing Saturday on the south side in the Margaret Bradley Invitational at the Henry Crown Fieldhouse on the campus of the University of Chicago.

Elena Barham and Erica Grubbs will be in the One-Mile field, Renee Wellman and Mallory Abel will compete in the 5,000m race, and the 3,000m event will feature Barham, Grubbs, Haley Albers, Victoria Bianco and Brooke Pigneri.
