EVANSTON, Ill. -- Coming off a dramatic come-from-behind victory in its season opener at USC, the fifth-ranked Northwestern Lacrosse program will battle No. 7 Virginia in a top-10 matchup Saturday afternoon at Kennesaw State Stadium as a part of the Cobb County Classic presented by LB3 Events.

The Wildcats opened the season with a 12-11 win, erasing a 7-0 deficit before claiming the overtime victory. The Cavaliers will be playing their first game of the season. The two teams both qualified for the NCAA semifinals a season ago.

The 'Cats hold a 9-5 lead in the all-time series and have won each of the last eight meetings. First draw is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CT.

Don't Mess With Mupo:
Senior Kara Mupo matched her career high with five goals in the season opener at USC, including the game-tying tally with 37 seconds left in regulation. Mupo was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week and Inside Lacrosse National Player of the Week for her performance.

Quite the Debut
Freshman Selena Lasota shined in her first collegiate contest, scoring four goals and dishing out a pair of assists to lead the `Cats with six points at USC. Lasota's fourth and final goal just 57 seconds into overtime proved to be the game winner in the Wildcats' dramatic come-from-behind 12-11 win. The Campbell River, B.C., native was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week and Inside Lacrosse National Rookie of the Week for her performance.

A Clean Sweep
In addition to Mupo and Lasota's Big Ten honors, sophomore Sheila Nesselbush was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week for her performance at USC. Nesselbush led had a pair of caused turnovers and ground balls and was instrumental in the NU defense holding USC scoreless for the final 15:35 of the contest.

Fredericks is a Freshman Too
Shelby Fredericks also made a splash in her first collegiate contest, scoring a pair of goals for the Purple and White. Fredericks was ranked the No. 4 incoming freshman in the country according to Lacrosse Magazine.

What a Comeback
After trailing by as much as 7-0 in the first half, Northwestern fought back for a 12-11 win in overtime at USC in its season opener. The `Cats scored a pair of goals in the final two minutes to send the game to overtime before Selena Lasota notched the game winner at the 5:03 mark of OT.

Welcome Home
Sophomore Lydia Cassada will have the chance to play in her home state of Georgia for the second-straight season Saturday. Cassada was a high school All-American for powerhouse Milton High School in the Atlanta area and is the first Georgia product to play for Kelly Amonte Hiller.

Inside Lacrosse Game of the Week
Saturday's meeting between No. 5 Northwestern and No. 7 Virginia at the Cobb County Classic has been anointed the Inside Lacrosse Game of the Week. The two teams are meeting for the 15th time in program history with the `Cats holding a 9-5 advantage after winning each of the last eight meetings.
