EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern plays a rare weekday matinee Monday as it hosts UIC at 1 p.m. at Welsh-Ryan Arena on Take a Kid to a Game Day.

With an adult admission purchased on gameday, two children in the eighth grade and under will be admitted FREE of charge.

Monday's contest is the fourth in a nine-day span for the Wildcats who will conclude their five-game homestand Saturday when they face Northern Kentucky.

The Wildcats used a solid second-half performance to post a 67-61 home win over Western Michigan on Saturday. NU shot 50 percent from the field in the second half to out-score the Broncos 42-33 after the break. Tre Demps led all scorers with 17 points while Alex Olah tied a career best with 12 rebounds and Bryant McIntosh dished out career-high 8 assists.

Olah has become a much more effective rebounder this season as a junior. After posting averages of 4.1 rebounds per game as a freshman and 5.2 as a sophomore, Olah has boosted that average to 7.5 per contest this season. The mark ranks fifth in the Big Ten. He has five double-figure rebounding games this year after having only one in his career entering this season.

Northwestern and UIC have split their previous eight meetings. The Wildcats rolled to a 93-58 win at UIC Pavilion Nov. 20 of last season behind Dave Sobolewski's career-high 25 points. NU shot 60.8 percent from the field in the contest and led 47-22 at halftime. The Wildcats' 93 points and .608 field goal percentage in the game both were season highs for the Wildcats.
