Northwestern Concludes 2014 with Final Day of Wildcat Fall Duals

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern women's tennis team wrapped up the 2014 fall slate with the conclusion of the Wildcat Fall Duals on Sunday afternoon. The `Cats largely saw competition against players from DePaul with some extra matches taking place throughout the day.

NU could not find the win column in singles play against the Blue Demons, going 0-5 with a trio of three-set defeats. The team had better fortune in a couple of matches against Yale with Erin Larner and Rheeya Doshi finding wins against their respective opponents. Larner was a 6-1, 6-2 winner over Valerie Shklover, while Doshi followed with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Elizabeth Zordani.

The `Cats also grabbed a pair of doubles wins, and both involved freshman Rheeya Doshi. First, she partnered with Brooke Rischbieth for an 8-6 win against DePaul's Patricia Fargas and Jasmin Kling. Later in the day, Doshi teamed up with Manon Peri, and the duo knocked off Ana Vladutu and Yuliya Shupenia, also of DePaul, 8-5.

Northwestern will have a two-month hiatus before heading to Alabama on January 16 for a final preseason tournament.
