WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- At 4-0-1 over their last five matches, including Wednesday's upset of No. 6 Penn State, the Wildcats roll into the Big Ten Tournament Semifinals on Friday, Nov. 7, to take on the Iowa Hawkeyes at 11 a.m. ET with a berth in the Big Ten Championship on the line.

Head coach Michael Moynihan's club has been one of the hottest in the nation over the last several weeks, dispatching a number of ranked opponents but none bigger than the win over the top-seeded and sixth-ranked Nittany Lions on Wednesday afternoon in the Tournament Quarterfinals. Freshman Michelle Manning scored in the 70th minute and classmate Lauren Clem made seven saves to record her ninth clean sheet of the season in the upset victory.

The Wildcats will meet a Hawkeyes squad that advanced to the Big Ten Semifinals for the second-straight season. Last year Iowa downed the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds (No. 8 Michigan, No. 20 Penn State) en route to a title game appearance -- a 1-0 loss to top-seeded Nebraska.

Northwestern and Iowa have already squared off once this season, on September 14 in Iowa City. The home team earned a 1-0 victory over the 'Cats thanks to a corner kick that was curled directly into the net, untouched, by Hawkeyes sophomore Corey Burns.

Friday's Tournament Semifinal will be broadcast live on the Big Ten Network with Dean Linke and Danielle Slaton on the call. The winner of the Iowa-Northwestern game will face the winner of the Minnesota-Wisconsin game in the championship contest at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
