EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern plays its lone exhibition game of the season Friday night as it host NCAA Division II foe McKendree University at Welsh-Ryan Arena. Tip time is set for 7 p.m.

Admission is just $10. Groups of 15 or more can get in for just $5 per ticket. As always, admission is free of charge to Northwestern undergraduate students with a valid WildCARD. There also will not be a charge for parking on Friday evening.

Northwestern is beginning its second season under head coach Chris Collins. The Wildcats return four starters and six letterwinners from last year's team that went 14-19 overall and 6-12 in Big Ten play. Redshirt senior guard JerShon Cobb is the team's leading returning scorer after averaging 12.2 points per game last season, while redshirt junior Tre Demps contributed 11.0 points per contest, primarily off the bench.

NU also welcomes in an outstanding group of newcomers as this year's group of freshmen ranked as the 31st-best recruiting class in the nation according to ESPN.com. Northwestern has seven newcomers this season: five scholarship freshmen (Vic Law, Scottie Lindsey, Bryant McIntosh, Gavin Skelly, Johnnie Vassar) one freshman walk-on (Nick Segura) and one fifth-year transfer (Jeremiah Kreisberg). Kreisberg joins the 'Cats after spending the last four years at Yale where he appeared in 88 games, making 55 starts.

Northwestern is scheduled to play 18 regular-season home games this season, just one shy of the school record. The Wildcats played 19 home games during the regular season in 2009-10 as well as in 2012-13.
