STANFORD, Calif. -- Northwestern slipped a few spots in the standings during Saturday's second round at the Stanford Intercollegiate, moving down to fifth place among the stacked 17-team field entering Sunday's final round.

The entirety of the 17-team field at the Stanford Intercollegiate is ranked in the top-100 in the first Golfstat.com rankings of the season and includes five of the top-10 schools in No. 1 Washington, No. 3 Stanford, No. 5 Northwestern, No. 6 USC and No. 8 UCLA.

Northwestern carded a 4-over 288 Saturday to fall to 2-over 570 (282-288) in the standings, four shots behind top-ranked and fourth-place Washington. UCLA leads the tournament at 8-under par following by Stanford in second and USC in third to give all of the top-10 teams in the field a spot in the top-5 in the standings.

Sunday's final round begins one hour earlier than the first two, with tee times beginning at 7:30 a.m. local time/9:30 a.m. CT.

Sophomore Kacie Komoto (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou) began Saturday's second round in sixth place after an opening 2-under 69. She stayed on that number after carding an even-par 71 that was nearly flawless until the 18th hole. Komoto began with a birdie at No. 3, though she gave that stroke back at No. 5. From there, a string of eight-straight pars preceded birdies at Nos. 14 and 16 to get her to 2-under once again. Komoto would not stay there, though, after a mistake at No. 18 led to a double bogey.

Komoto remains in the top-10 to lead the Wildcats individually; she is eighth overall at 2-under 140 (69-71).

Freshman Hannah Kim (Chula Vista, Calif./Otay Ranch) turned in 1-over 36 and began her back nine Saturday with five-straight pars. A birdie-birdie combination at Nos. 15 and 16 get her under par before a bogey at the 17th led to a second-straight even-par 71. Kim remains in the top-20 with a 20th-place total of even-par 142 (71-71).

Junior Kaitlin Park (Tustin, Calif./Beckman) went out in 3-over 38 after a front nine that included a double bogey at the par-3 fourth hole and looked doomed to repeat her opening 77 from Friday. She recovered quite nicely, however, to get all the way back to even par when she birdied Nos. 11, 15 and 17 on the back side, but a closing bogey resulted in a 1-over 72 in the round, putting her in 57th place at 7-over 149 (77-72).

Junior Suchaya Tangkamolprasert (Bangkok, Thailand/Bromsgrove Christian School) went out in 1-under par and got as low as 2-under through 12 holes of play before enduring a bogey-bogey-double bogey stretch from Nos. 13 through 15. That bump in the road gave her a 2-over 73 in the second round a 36-hole total of 3-over 145 (72-73).

Senior Hana Lee (Hacienda Heights, Calif./Wilson) had a rough second day, carding 11 bogeys including seven on the front nine to record an 11-over 82. Lee now is 64th overall in the standings at 10-over 152 (70-82).

Freshman Sarah Cho's (San Diego, Calif./Torrey Pines) individual effort Saturday involved four bogeys and three birdies for a 1-over 72. She is in 39th place at 3-over 145 (73-72).
