COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Over the course of 110 minutes on Friday night in Maryland, the Wildcats and Terrapins battled to a scoreless draw in the first meeting between the two programs since the Terps joined the Big Ten Conference.

Over the last two weeks, head coach Michael Moynihan's Wildcats had displayed a heightened offensive attack, knocking off No. 19 Illinois 2-0 and piling up a season-high 20 shots against No. 15 Wisconsin on Sunday at Lakeside Field. Friday in College Park that trend continued as the visitors outshot the home side by a 19-13 margin.

Sophomore Addie Steiner led the way with a game-high eight shots, her second consecutive eight-shot performance. The Prairie Village, Kansas, native leads the team with eight goals this season and now ranks fifth in the Big Ten with 54 shots. Junior Niki Sebo chipped in with four shots and classmate Nandi Mehta registered three as the Wildcats put strain on the Maryland defense and tested goalkeeper Rachelle Beanlands.

Northwestern netminder Lauren Clem was up to the challenge of a balanced Maryland attack that entered the game with 15 total goals scored by 11 different Terrapins. The freshman posted seven saves for the fifth shutout of her rookie campaign.

The Wildcats road trip continues on Sunday at noon CT when they travel north to take on the other new member of the Big Ten Conference, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, in Piscataway, New Jersey.
