EVANSTON, Ill -- After winning four of five games on its recent road trip, Northwestern returns to Evanston, Ill., to host a pair of midweek games at Rocky Miller Park. The Wildcats welcome Wheaton College on Tuesday, April 22 before taking on Chicago State on Wednesday, April 23. Both games are slated to begin at 3 p.m.

QUIGLEY CAPTURES BIG TEN HONOR
After helping the Wildcats to crucial wins in the first two games of his team's series at Nebraska, Northwestern relief pitcher Jack Quigley was named the Big Ten Co-Pitcher of the Week on Monday, April 21. On Friday, April 18, the senior allowed just one hit over 3.1 scoreless IP as he kept the 'Cats in the ballgame before they were able to prevail in the 12th inning. He earned his second win of the season in the series opener. Approximately 16 hours later, Quigley returned to the bump to throw another scoreless frame, earning his third save of the season. Over the two appearances in Lincoln, the Birmingham, Mich., native held Nebraska's offense, the conference's most prolific, to a batting average of .077 (1-for-13). He also fielded his position flawlessly with five assists and one putout.

HURT `EM WITH TWO
Northwestern scored 14 total runs in its series at Nebraska (4/18-19) and 10 of those came with two outs in the inning. Jake Straub and Cody Stevens each notched two-out singles in the series opener, while Straub did it once again in the first game of the doubleheader on Saturday. In the series finale, NU plated seven runs with two outs, including all five in the third inning. The Wildcats have 43 two-out RBI this season, led by Jack Livingston, who has eight.

TURNING TWO
The Wildcats defense has turned 31 double plays in 35 games this season, which puts them tied for fifth in the Big Ten. NU had six twin killings at Hawks Field in Lincoln, Neb. over the weekend, including a season-high four in its 3-2 victory in the first game of a doubleheader on April 19. Against Nebraska, Northwestern recorded a 4-6-3 DP in the 2nd, a 6-4-3 DP in the 3rd, a 3-6-1 DP in the 4th and a 1-5 line drive DP with the bases loaded and no outs in the 7th.

NORTH SHORE HITMEN
Northwestern's offense accomplished a rare feat at the beginning of the season. As of March 24, the Wildcats were one of only 11 teams in all of Division I to record 10+ hits in five-or-more consecutive games this season. The 'Cats collected 10+ hits in the first seven games of the season between Feb. 14-23. NU had nine, then eight hits in the two games that followed, but bounced back with a season-high 18 on March 2 at Tennessee Tech. The 'Cats have produced 10-plus hits 17 times total this season, including five times in the last nine games entering the week. NU has produced 10 hits on five occasions and 16 hits in four of its games, while accumulating 343 hits this year.
