EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) joined forces Wednesday afternoon with members of the Evanston Fire Department and the Northwestern University Fire Department for its third annual kickball game at Sharon J. Drysdale Field.
The two teams battled back-and-forth through eight innings on the diamond, but as the raindrops began to fall at a steady rate, the game was called in a 6-6 tie.
Bolstered by members of EFD's bravest, Team Fire, led by head softball coach Kate Drohan, was aided by the following student-athletes:
Reggie Hearn - men's basketball
Cody Libman - baseball
Karly Roser - women's basketball
Max Chapman - football
Maggie Burnham - volleyball
John Callahan - men's golf
Fallon Fitzpatrick - women's swimming
In addition to several of NUPD's finest, Team Police, under the tutelage of head baseball coach Paul Stevens featured these standout student-athletes:
Peter Horner - men's soccer
Libby Kocha - cross country
Mihir Kumar - men's tennis
Amanda Macaluso - lacrosse
Olivia Duehr - Softball
Mike McMullan - wrestling
Julie Sierks - women's soccer
Toni Valcic - men's swimming
Kaitlin Park - women's golf
After the spirited game, the opposing sides convened for a P.R.I.D.E. picnic at the N Club inside Welsh-Ryan Arena. At that event, awards were handed out to NU student-athletes and teams for their unwavering commitment to both the Northwestern and Evanston communities.
