EVANSTON, Ill. -- As many as 46 Northwestern fall Olympic events will be available for fans to watch on television or online in 2012, as NU once again eclipses the school record for broadcast coverage in the fall season.
Northwestern's defending Big Ten champion men's soccer program will kick off the coverage with its home opener on August 25, the first of 11 regular season games that will be broadcast - including four games televised live on the Big Ten Network. The 2012 Big Ten men's soccer tournament will be contested at Lakeside Field in Evanston November 7-11, with all six tournament games also being streamed or televised.
The Wildcat volleyball team will have at least 14 regular season matches with broadcast coverage, including two live television broadcasts. The Big Ten Network will select additional late-season matches for "wild card" coverage at a later date.
Women's soccer will have 10 regular season games broadcast, while field hockey will be on air five times. Both sports will also have their postseason tournaments televised live by the Big Ten Network.
Streamed coverage for Northwestern events is available through a subscription to Wildcats All-Access on NUsports.com. Many streamed events are student-produced broadcasts through the Big Ten Digital Network, which provides high-quality, multi-camera coverage and student announcers for the games. BTDN streams are part of the Wildcats All-Access subscription package and are also available on demand after the conclusion of the live event.
