EVANSTON, Ill. -- For the third time this spring, senior Eric Chun (Ansung City, South Korea/International Christian School) is the Big Ten's Golfer of the Week.

Chun won his second event of the spring season Sunday with a closing 5-under 66 after back-to-back 2-under 69s in the opening rounds at the NYX Hoosier Invitational, vaulting from second place entering the final round to a four-stroke victory. Chun previously won B1G weekly accolades after tying for the win at the Rice Intercollegiate in February and finishing second at the Barona Collegiate Cup in March.

For Chun, his Sunday round marked his ninth-straight stroke play round this spring with an under par total, with each of the last seven being in the 60s. Out of 24 total stroke play rounds for the entire year, 17 have been at par or better for Chun with 12 in the 60s. His current 70.25 stroke average after Sunday is well under Luke Donald's school record of 70.45 set during his NCAA Championship year of 1998-99. Chun led Northwestern to an 11-shot team victory in the NYX Hoosier Invitational.

Overall, the honor is the fourth for NU as a program. In addition to Chun's trio of awards, senior Sam Chien (San Diego, Calif./Mt. Carmel) was picked as the Big Ten's Golfer of the Week following the Wildcats' third-straight victory at the Big Ten Match Play Championships in February.

Northwestern returns to action at the Kepler Intercollegiate this weekend in Columbus, Ohio.
