Former Wildcat Elissa Clapp To Be Featured On BTN's LiveBIG

Nov. 4, 2011

CHICAGO-- In its seventh installment, BTN LiveBIG will feature former Northwestern women's tennis player Elissa Clapp on Monday, Nov. 7 at 6:30 p.m. CT. Clapp is profiled for "living big" through her outstanding work with Teach For America.

Clapp, who played tennis from 1992-1996 at NU, serves as the executive vice president for recruitment at Teach For America. In her role she helps to enlist college graduates who will help the organization's efforts to end educational inequity. Clapp has been affiliated with Teach For America since 1996 when she joined and spent three years teaching high school English classes in greater New Orleans. She has been a valuable member of the recruitment team since 1999.

Dhani Jones, a former Michigan Wolverine football player, hosts BTN LiveBIG, a program that highlights the tremendous ways in which members of the Big Ten community serve others. The episode featuring Clapp airs Monday, Nov. 7 at 6:30 p.m. CT.

Clapp is the second NU alum to be featured on LiveBIG this fall. Last month former baseball player John Trautwein was profiled for his work with the Will to Live Foundation.
