LOS ANGELES -- Northwestern's top doubles pairing of Linda Abu Mushrefova and Nida Hamilton have advanced to the semifinals of the main doubles draw at the ITA All-American Championships Saturday at 5 p.m.
In the quarterfinal match earlier today, Mushrefova (Bradenton, Fla./Pendleton) and Hamilton (Oak Brook, Ill./Hinsdale Central) were pushed to the limit by Wake Forest's duo of Kayla Duncan and Kathryn Talbert. Northwestern's had control most of the way in the back-and-forth affair and hung on to win a nail-biter, 9-7.
Mushrefova and Hamilton will take to the courts at the Riviera Tennis Club again Saturday for a semifinal showdown against Florida's Sofie Oyen and Allie Will. Oyen and Will, the draw's third seed, blanked their quarterfinal opponents from Kansas, 8-0. T
