EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern senior Josh Dupont (Poway, Calif./Cathedral Catholic) has been named a 2010-11 Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status in NCAA Division I, an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least two full years at the collegiate level, participate in 70 percent of his team's competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke-average under 76.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2.
Dupont is the seventh Wildcat to earn the honor in both of the years he was eligible. Northwestern has won 15 All-America Scholar awards during head coach Pat Goss' 15-year tenure, inclusive of recording at least one winner in each of the last six seasons.
A total of 138 student-athletes were named NCAA Division I Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars by the GCAA this season. For the complete list and release, visit collegiategolf.com.
