EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern enters the 2011 NCAA Colorado Regional May 19-21 at Colorado National Golf Course in Erie, Colo., looking to turn its strong finish to the spring season into its seventh trip to the NCAA National Championships under 15th-year head coach Pat Goss.

The 54-hole Regional will feature 18 holes of play on each of the three days at the 7,676-yard, par-72 Colorado National tract. Live scoring for the Regional is available at Golfstat.com.

The Wildcats are the No. 10 overall seed at the Colorado Regional hosted by Colorado, which features a field of 13 teams. The top five squads and top individual not on those teams will advance to Karsten Creek in Stillwater, Okla., May 31-June 5 to compete for the 2011 national championship.

Northwestern is making its 26th all-time team appearance in NCAA postseason play and its 12th under Goss. From 1997-2000, the Wildcats earned four-consecutive top-20 finishes in the nation, including a trio of top-10 efforts. NU was seventh in 1997 (when Goss was named National Coach of the Year), 19th in 1998, third in 1999 (when current OWGR No. 3 Luke Donald claimed the individual national championship) and eighth in 2000. Since 2000, NU has been to eight NCAA Regionals, moving on to the national championships in 2006 and 2009.

NU has finished well in its last two tourneys prior to the Regional. At the April 16-17 Illini Spring Classic (which was shortened by weather to 36 holes), Northwestern jumped four spots in the second round to earn a tie for third place among the 14-team field.

The Wildcats then made a steady charge up the leaderboard at the 2011 Big Ten Championships. After opening the event in seventh place, NU improved that position after each round before turning in its best performance of the season: a final round 7-under 281 led by senior David Lipsky's 5-under 67 and featuring all five Wildcats in the lineup with scores at or below par.

In addition to Lipsky's consistent No. 1 play, Eric Chun has back-to-back top-10 finishes entering the Regional and Nick Losole has two top-20s in his last three events.
