Northwestern junior Paul Snieder (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou), a finalist for the 2010 John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award, is one of 25 individuals named to the watch list for this year's honor.
The Olerud Award, which recognizes a player who makes an impact both on the mound and at the plate, will be presented in Lubbock, Texas, on July 3 as part of the College Baseball Hall of Fame's Night of Champions.
At the plate, the first baseman/designated hitter ranks second on the team with a .348 batting average and a .522 slugging percentage while pacing the squad with 12 doubles, four home runs and 31 RBI.
Snieder hit safely in 15 straight games from April 2-29 and batted .393 during the month of April.
On the mound, the right-hander leads the Wildcats with a 2.37 ERA and four saves while limiting opponents to a .203 batting average. Snieder has a 2-2 record and has appeared in 16 games.
Northwestern (14-25, 6-9 Big Ten) opens a three-game series at Indiana at 2:05 p.m. Central time Friday.
