DELRAY BEACH, Fla. -- After finishing even Friday, freshman Brad Shigezawa (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou Academy) continued his steady play, shooting 1-over par Saturday to position himself in a tie for 17th with one day remaining at the FAU Spring Break Championship.
As a team, the Wildcats shot a 306 on the day and fell into 11th after finishing Friday's action in a tie for seventh.
Senior David Lipsky (La Canada, Calif./La Canada), who also shot par yesterday, birdied twice on the back nine to turn in a 3-over effort. Following a 1-over performance yesterday, Nick Losole (Scottsdale, Ariz./Scottsdale Notre Dame) finished 6-over for two-day score of 151.
After a rough start on the first two holes, Eric Chun (Ansung City, South Korea/International Christian School) made birdies on eight and nine and looked poised to return to his usual brilliance. It was not to be on this day, however, as he finished 8-over par for the second day in a row.
Senior Josh Dupont (Poway, Calif./Cathedral Catholic) shot 12-over par on the day.
Although Ravi Patel's (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) score doesn't count toward the team total, the senior is NU's top individual in the Championships, finishing 4-over today to compliment his career-best 70 from yesterday. He is tied for 11th in the individual leaderboard. Jack Perry also is competing as an individual and has a two-day score of 147.
The FAU Spring Break Championship concludes tomorrow, Sunday, March 27, with the final round at Gleneagles. Live results are available at golfstat.com.
