SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- For the second year in a row, Northwestern was well-represented at the U.S. Cross Country Championships, this year sending sophomore Audrey Huth and freshmen Michelle Moriset and Lexie Goldsmith to the national trials event in San Diego.

Huth, who last season competed in the event's junior division, moved into the women's open category where she finished 40th by completing the 8K race in a time of 31:01.

Moriset and Goldsmith were among the competitors in the junior division, where Goldsmith ran a strong 6K time of 22:35 to place ninth in a field of 50 runners. Moriset checked in in 31st position with her time of 23:56.

Goldsmith's efforts were enough for to earn a place in the NACAC Championships (North America, Central America and Caribbean), which will be held Feb. 19, 2011, in Trinidad and Tobago. Huth represented the Wildcats at the same event a year ago, placing 12th overall.
