WILMINGTON, N.C. -- Northwestern saved its best performance of the 2010 Landfall Tradition for last, posting a 16-over 304 over the final 18 holes to move into sole possession of 13th-place at the Country Club of Landfall.

Competing against its toughest field of the season, Northwestern held its own over the final round, breaking out of a 14th-place tie to finish four strokes ahead of 14th-place Oklahoma State and 11 shots better than 15th-place Florida State. The Wildcats kept both South Carolina and North Carolina State on their heels all afternoon, finishing one stroke back of the duo which tied for 11th-place overall.

For the second-straight day, junior Alex Lederhausen (Hinsdalle, Ill./Central) shot the low round of the afternoon, matching her 3-over 75 performance from Saturday as she finishes at the top Wildcat for the first time this season. Lederhausen ended the 54-hole tournament tied for 33rd overall with a 12-over 228, two strokes better than sophomore teammate Lauren Weaver, whose 4-over 76 on Sunday gave her a 14-over 230 for the weekend.

Senior Rebecca Lederhausen (Hinsdale, Ill./Central) also posted a 4-over 76 in round three to finish at 15-over 231 and among the top-50 individually. Freshman Devon Brown (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif./Cathedral Catholic) placed fourth on the Northwestern scorecard with a 19-over 235, followed by sophomore Anne Ormson's (Granger, Ind./St. Joseph's) 25-over 241.

Fifth-ranked UCLA used a final round surge to capture the 2010 Landfall Tradition team title with a 16-over 880, besting second-place North Carolina by five strokes. Texas, Duke and Virginia battled each other down the stretch, jockeying for positions before finally settling into third, fourth and fifth-place. Virginia's Brittany Altomare and UCLA's Tiffany Lua both finished at 2-under 214 to capture the individual co-championship.

The three-day event wraps up the fall portion of Northwestern's 2010-11 season as the Wildcats finished among the top-10 in three of their five events, highlighted by a runner-up placing at the Lady Northern Invitational. Head coach Emily Fletcher's squad will have nearly a four-month hiatus before returning to the links at the Lady Puerto Rico on Feb. 13-15, 2010.
