The Weekend
Northwestern opens its final home stand of the 2010 season this week when the 'Cats host Big Ten foe Iowa for a 7 p.m. match Thursday at Lakeside Field. Live, streaming video of the match will be available with a Wildcats All Access subscription on NUsports.com.

Last Time Out
Playing a Sunday morning match in East Lansing, Mich., Northwestern battled and outshot host Michigan State but ultimately came out on the short end of a 1-0 final. NU took 11 shots in the contest, including six that were on goal. The Spartans scored off a corner kick - one of eight the hosts took in the game - in the 77th minute, then withstood several good scoring opportunities by the Wildcats in the waning moments to hold on for the victory.

Scouting the Hawkeyes
Iowa enters Thursday's match with a 7-6-2 overall record and in 10th place in the Big Ten standings. The Hawkeyes have scored 25 goals this season, including five by Leah DeMoss. Despite starting only two games this season, DeMoss, a freshman, also leads the Hawkeyes in points (13). Four other players have scored three goals each for Iowa, including junior forward Morgan Showalter, the Hawkeyes' offensive player of the year in 2009. Emily Moran is in her third season as the Iowa netminder. The junior has started all 15 matches for Iowa this season and boasts a 1.06 goals-against average along with 62 saves made.

Series Information
Northwestern holds a 9-3-1 lead in the all-time series between the schools, the Wildcats' best record against a conference opponent. NU is unbeaten in its last eight matchups with Iowa and has defeated the Hawkeyes four years in a row. Last year in Iowa City, Jessica Palo scored 1:25 into overtime to give the 'Cats the win in a game marked by cold rain and strong winds.

Senior Night 2010
With just two home games remaining in the 2010 season, time on Lakeside Field is drawing to a close for Northwestern's senior class. The Wildcats will honor their seniors prior to the home finale on Friday, Oct. 29. The senior class of Colleen Antas, Ally Arca, Jennifer Baumann, Carolyn Edwards, Sam Greene, Leigh Jakes and Ali Schneeman have combined to start 235 games for Northwestern, and enter the weekend with 31 career wins.
