EVANSTON, Ill. -- For the third time this season, Northwestern's Chelsea Armstrong has been named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week, with the most recent honor coming on the heels of six goals and one assist in two Wildcat victories last week.

Armstrong wasted little time getting on the board in Northwestern's first game of the week against UC Davis, scoring just 1:44 after the opening whistle and adding an assist nine minutes later. Armstrong went on to record a first-half hat trick and finish with a career-high-tying four goals and nine points against the Aggies in a 5-0 win.

On Friday, Armstrong led NU to an important 4-2 victory against Big Ten foe Indiana, scoring twice in the first half to give the Wildcats a 2-0 halftime lead they would not surrender. Armstrong raised her Big Ten-leading goals total to 19 and her conference-best points total to 49 -- 17 more than the second-ranked player.

With only 34 career games under her belt, Armstrong ranks in a tie for sixth all-time at Northwestern in both points (105) and goals (40).

NU, 10-4 overall and 2-0 in the Big Ten for the first time since 1994, is preparing for a clash with fellow unbeaten Michigan (9-5, 3-0) at 3 p.m. Friday in Ann Arbor.
