GLENVIEW, Ill. -- Led by a pair of players tied for fifth place as individuals, Northwestern is tied for fourth as a team at its own Windon Memorial Classic following 36 holes of play Sunday at North Shore Country Club in Glenview, Ill.

Senior David Lipsky (La Canada, Calif./La Canada) and sophomore Nick Losole (Scottsdale, Ariz./Scottsdale Notre Dame) each are tied for fifth position at 1-over 143, helping the Wildcats to a 12-over 580 (289-291). NU is tied with Ohio State, two shots behind third-place Tulsa, six shots in back of second-place California and eight strokes behind first-place Michigan. Cal shot a blistering 11-under 273 in the second round to vault into second.

Michigan's Lion Kim, the 2010 U.S. Public Links champion, leads the tournament by two strokes at 2-under 140.

The third and final round of the Windon Memorial Classic gets underway with tee times beginning at 8 a.m. CT tomorrow morning, Monday, Sept. 27. For a complete list, click on the .pdf at the top of this page.

Lipsky had an incredibly eventful first round en route to a 1-over 72, waiting until his eighth hole of the day to record his first par. Lipsky began on No. 17, making three birdies and four bogeys before a string of three pars to conclude the front nine. A double bogey kicked off the back side, but birdies at Nos. 11, 14 and 15 gave him a strong finish in a morning that included six birdies overall.

In the second round, Lipsky got to 3-over through nine holes before again finishing hot with a trio of birdies to complete the afternoon at even-par 71, good for his 1-over 143 (72-71).

Losole's morning featured a red-hot stretch at the end of the front nine with birdies at Nos. 6, 7 and 9 balanced against a trio of bogeys for his even-par 71 that tied him for fourth following 18 holes of play. In the evening, four birdies and three bogeys had the sophomore at 1-under par but back-to-back bogeys on his final two holes put him at 1-over 72 on the round and 1-over 143 (71-72) for the day.

Chun also was tied for fourth after the opening round with an even-par 71. He carded three birdies and three bogies, including one at the par-4 17th on his final hole. His second round did not go quite so well, beginning bogey-bogey-double bogey before even-par golf the rest of the way left him at 4-over 74 and 4-over 146 (71-75) for the tournament. He is in 21st place as an individual.

Chien turned in an opposite day to Chun, struggling to a 6-over 77 in the morning before coming back to record a 2-over 73 in the afternoon thanks to a three birdie, five bogey second round. Chien is 46th overall at 8-over 150 (77-73).

In the first round of his collegiate career, freshman Jack Perry (Santa Barbara, Calif./Santa Barbara) carded four bogies and 14 pars for a 4-over 75 Sunday morning. He had a much tougher afternoon, going 40-41 for a 10-over 81 to end up 76th in the individual standings at 14-over 156 (75-81) after 36 holes.

The other three Wildcats on Northwestern's roster are competing in the tournament as individuals, meaning their scores do not count toward the NU team total. Freshman Brad Shigezawa (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou Academy) is having a great first Windon, entering the final round in fifth position at 1-over 143 (72-71). In the morning, Shigezawa ballooned to 4-over through 13 holes before birdies at Nos. 11, 12 and 15 accounted for a 1-over 72. In his second round, every time Shigezawa made bogey, he followed with a birdie within two holes to card an even-par 71.

Senior Ravi Patel (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) is 21st individually at 4-over 146 (74-72). Patel put together a first round with four bogeys and one birdie before an equally steady second round that saw him finish birdie-birdie-par for a 1-over 72.

Senior Josh Dupont (Poway, Calif./Cathedral Catholic) rounds out the Northwestern contingent in 33rd place with a 6-over 148 (78-70). After a rough morning, he came back with a much better 1-under 70 in the afternoon. His second round was the best score of the day for a Wildcat golfer. He was 2-over after seven holes before steadily coming back to under par with birdies at Nos. 4, 8 and 13.
