ZIONSVILLE, Ind. -- Buoyed by the third-best score of the day in Sunday's final round of the Wolf Run Intercollegiate, Northwestern jumped up three spots on the leaderboard to finish in a fifth-place tie with host Indiana in the 15-team tournament.

With the Wildcats' powerful 1-2 punch of 2010 Big Ten champion David Lipsky (La Canada, Calif./La Canada) and 2009 Big Ten champion Eric Chun (Ansung City, South Korea/International Christian School) both going under par in the final round, the 'Cats carded a 7-over 291 to finish at 30-over 882 (296-295-291). Northwestern placed two strokes behind fourth-place Tulsa and four shots in back of Ball State and Central Florida, which tied for second. Illinois ran away with the team title, winning by 19 shots.

Lipsky vaulted into 11th place with a final-round 1-under 70, leaving him at 6-over 219 (74-75-70) for the tournament. Lipsky now has placed in the top-20 in Northwestern's last five events dating to last season. After struggling through the first two rounds Saturday, Chun also found red numbers with a 1-under 70 on Sunday to move up to 15th place at 8-over 221 (75-76-70). Chun has been in the top-20 individually in five of the Wildcats' last six tournaments dating to a year ago.

Sophomore Nick Losole (Scottsdale, Ariz./Scottsdale Notre Dame) continued his consistent play with his third-straight 2-over 73 Sunday, tying him with Lipsky for NU's best finish in 11th place. Losole's previous best-career finish was 15th in his first-career tournament a year ago at the 36-hole Navy Fall Classic.

After entering Sunday in the top 10 in the individual standings, senior Ravi Patel (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) struggled to a 9-over 80. He finished the tournament in 40th position at 13-over 226 (74-72-80). Senior Josh Dupont (Poway, Calif./Cathedral Catholic) rounded out the Northwestern lineup in 58th with a 17-over 230 (77-75-78).

Northwestern returns to action next weekend, Sept. 17-19, at the Fighting Illini Invitational in Olympia Fields, Ill.
