EVANSTON, Ill. -- Coming off back-to-back victories, Northwestern (2-1) embarks on a second consecutive extended road trip when it heads to Virginia this weekend. NU will take on Virginia Commonwealth and William & Mary on Friday and Saturday, respectively, before preparing for a meeting with the third-ranked Cavaliers Monday in Charlottesville.

Northwestern Field Hockey Viewbook Now Available
• The official 2010 Northwestern field hockey team digital viewbook is now available on NUsports.com. The viewbook consists of team information, individual player pages and a welcome video from NU head coach Tracey Fuchs. Armstrong Fuels Wildcat Offense
• Coming to Northwestern in 2009 as a former defender and relative unknown, Chelsea Armstrong immediately began scoring in bunches for the Wildcats and eventually finished as the Big Ten regular-season leader in goals with 22. In her first three games of 2010, Armstrong has picked up right where she left off in her rookie season. Against Northeastern, Armstrong spurred NU's comeback from a two-goal deficit by scoring the 'Cats' first two goals and assisting on the game-winning tally later in the match. Two days later, she notched two goals in the first 12 minutes as the Wildcats raced past Colgate, 4-1. Armstrong recorded 15 of a whopping 38 NU shots in the game as she took an early lead in the Big Ten scoring race.

Two-Way Kaylee
• Perhaps more so than any other regular Wildcat contributor, junior midfielder Kaylee Pohlmeyer is making her mark on both ends of the pitch for NU. On the offensive side, Pohlmeyer helped ice the Wildcats' win over Northeastern when she deflected home a shot by Marnie Robbins with 10 minutes remaining and also chipped in an assist against Colgate on Monday. She is second on the team in shots following a sophomore campaign in which she scored eight goals. Meanwhile, Pohlmeyer is already the team leader with two defensive saves after leading the squad with four in 2009.

Penalty Corner Prowess
• In rallying from a 2-0 deficit Saturday against Northeastern, NU relied heavily on its penalty corner unit to provide a spark to the offense. The Wildcats saw a goal by Nikki Parsley disallowed off a corner before Chelsea Armstrong scored once and assised once off penalty corners. In a 4-1 win at Monday at Colgate, Northwestern scored just one corner goal but generated a season-high 12 in the game.

Series Notes
• Northwestern's Friday match at Virginia Commonwealth marks the first-ever meeting between the two schools while on Saturday NU will be aiming to tie the all-time series against William & Mary at one apiece (the two teams have not met since 1994). Meanwhile, Virginia leads the all-time series against Northwestern, 6-2, after winning the most recent matchup in 2006.
