Rachel Evjen Booth to Compete at USA Track & Field Nationals

June 22, 2010

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Former Northwestern cross country standout Rachel Evjen Booth, arguably the most decorated runner in Wildcat history, will compete Thursday at the 2010 USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Des Moines, Iowa.

Evjen Booth will race in the 10,000-meter event, which is scheduled to go off at 8:55 p.m. CT.

A 2001 first-team all-Big Ten selection, Evjen Booth still holds the top six 6K race times in Northwestern history and had a total of 10 sub-22 6K races during her Wildcat career. She was NU's top finisher in every race she ran in her final three seasons and led Northwestern to the 2002 NCAA Cross Country Championships, the second team appearance in school history. After graduating in 2003, Evjen Booth returned to Evanston in 2004 and served one season as an assistant coach.

As a professional runner, Evjen Booth placed 17th at the 2010 USA Cross Country National Championship and 14th at the USA 15K Championships.
