EVANSTON, Ill. -- Wildcat seniors Nicole Pauly (Palatine, Ill./Palatine) of the softball team and Chad Noble (Rockwall, Texas/Rockwall) of the baseball team have been named NU's Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week for their performances over the weekend.

Pauly to three Big Ten wins last week by slugging 1.417 with two doubles and three home runs, including the 50th of her career to make her the third Wildcat in program history to reach that plateau. Pauly scored twice and smashed an RBI-double in the first game of a twinbill at Michigan State. After driving in a run during a midweek nonconference game, Pauly came back with a double and career home run No. 51 during a rain-shortened victory at Indiana.

Noble collected four multi-hit games last week in helping the Wildcats earn three victories and move into a first-place tie in the Big Ten standings. The senior catcher, who batted .471 in the four contests, leads the team with a .392 season average. Noble drove in three runs in Sunday's 6-3 victory over Purdue to guide NU to its third straight Big Ten series win. He currently boasts a 12-game hitting streak.

This week's Community Service Athlete of the Week is sophomore Jared Carpenter (Bowling Green, Ky./Bowling Green) of the football team. Carpenter and other members of the football team participated in Misericordia's Candy Days last week, manning several intersections in Evanston to solicit donations. Misericordia/Heart of Mercy is an organization that provides services and shelter for those in need.
