2010 Big Ten Championships Results Through Round Three
MADISON, Wis. -- Northwestern, who began Saturday's third round in fifth-place at the 2010 Big Ten Championships, posted a 14-over 302 to slip back in to a tie for sixth-place overall with Indiana after 54 holes. The Wildcats and Hoosiers are both three shots back of fifth-place Minnesota and five strokes behind fourth-place Wisconsin heading into Sunday's final round.
There is a three-way tie atop the Northwestern leaderboard with junior Kelsey Lindenschmidt (West Chester, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) and sophomores Alexandra Lederhausen (Hinsdale, Ill./Central) and Kylie Fuller (Temecula, Calif./Chapparal) all tied for 19th-place individually with an 8-over 224. Lindenschmidt, who has been Northwestern's top finisher at the past two Big Ten Championships, paced the Wildcats with an even-par 72 on the day, including a 1-under 35 over the back nine. Lederhausen posted a 3-over 75 on the day while Fuller notched a 6-over 78 to create the logjam.
Junior Rebecca Lederhausen (Hinsdale, Ill./Central) sits six shots back of the pack as her 7-over 79 gives her a 54-hole total of 14-over 230. She leads freshman teammate Lauren Weaver (Scottsdale, Ariz./Cactus Shadows) by a single stroke after Weaver shot a 5-over 77 to sit at 15-over 231 at her first career Big Ten Championships. Fellow freshman Anne Ormson (Granger, Ind./St. Joseph's) rounds out the Northwestern scorecard with 23-over 239 after shooting a 10-over 82 on Saturday.
Purdue continues to run away in pursuit of its third-straight Big Ten Championship, posting a three-round total of 1-over 865 and leading second-place Ohio State (16-over 880) by 15 strokes heading into Sunday's final round. Michigan State (19-over 883) is three shots back of the Buckeyes in third-place, followed by the Badgers, Gophers, Wildcats and Hoosiers.
Sunday's final 18 holes are scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. CT at the University Ridge Golf Course in Madison with Northwestern among the second group to tee-off from hole 10 at around 8:50 a.m. Live scoring of Sunday's final round will be available at Golfstat.com
