WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- After one complete round of play Saturday at the Boilermaker Invitational at Purdue's Kampen Course, Northwestern is officially tied with Indiana for sixth place at 5-over 293. The scheduled second round has been suspended by foul weather with most teams through 13 or 14 holes, according to tournament directors.

The Wildcats are two strokes out of third place and one shot in front of eighth place Miami (Ohio). Seven teams from third-through-ninth in the 12-team field were within four shots of each other following the first round. There is no live scoring at the Boilermaker Invitational, so partial totals for the second round are not available.

The second round will be completed with a shotgun start at approximately 7:45 a.m. CT. The third and final round will immediately follow.

Sophomore Eric Chun (Ansung City, South Korea/International Christian School) led the Wildcats in the first round with a 1-under 71, good for seventh place in the individual standings. He played the front nine in 1-over par before heating up with a 2-under 34 coming in. He did most of his damage on the 7,210-yard Kampen Course on the par-4s, which he played in a combined 3-under par.

Both David Lipsky (La Canada, Calif./La Canada) and Nick Losole (Scottsdale, Ariz./Scottsdale Notre Dame) are tied for 21st overall after opening-round 1-over 73 totals. Lipsky played the front nine in even-par before going 1-over on the back side, while Losole carded exactly the opposite. Lipsky aided his first round by going 1-under on the par-3s while Losole was second in the field with 15 total pars.

Junior Josh Dupont (Poway, Calif./Cathedral Catholic) is 43rd overall at 4-over 76, turning totals of 1-over 37 on the front and 3-over 39 on the back. Senior Jonathan Bowers (Columbus, Ohio./Bishop Watterson) rounded out NU's day with a 7-over 79, placing him 61st in the field.
