CHICAGO, Ill. -- In its first track event of the spring quarter, Northwestern put forth a solid effort at the Ted Haydon Invitational hosted by the University of Chicago Saturday. Sophomore Sophie Ewald crossed first in the 3K event in 10:06.36 while freshman Audrey Huth was the winner in the 5K with a time of 17:24.
In the 1,500-meter event, sophomore Hallie Busta took first place overall with a 4:56.83. Busta also got in a run in the 800-meter race, placing fourth overall.
In addition to Huth, Northwestern also placed two more runners in the top five of the 5K in freshman Allegra Mayer and sophomore Abby Tracy.
