GREENSBORO, N.C. -- It was a day to remember for Northwestern at the Bryan Park Players Course as the Wildcats shoot an even-par 288 over the final 18 holes of the 2010 Bryan National Collegiate to move up three spots and finish 10th overall. The even-par 288 was the lowest of the day among the challenging 18-team field and is tied for the second-lowest round in program history as NU finished the 54-hole tournament with a 31-over 895 (309-298-288).

Beginning the final round in a tie for 13th-place, Northwestern was hitting its shots from the opening tee box as all five players finished Sunday's final round shooting a 76 or better. Sophomore Kylie Fuller (Temecula, Calif./Chapparal) posted the first sub-par round of her career, shooting a 1-under 71 over the final 18 holes.

Fuller ultimately ended up third on the Wildcat scorecard, finishing the tournament with an 11-over 227 (84-72-71). Freshman Lauren Weaver (Scottsdale, Ariz./Cactus Shadows) used an even-par 72 to propel her into a tie for 14th-place overall with a 5-over 221 (76-73-72), the seventh top-20 finish of her Northwestern career. Weaver finished four shots better than sophomore teammate Alexandra Lederhausen (Hinsdale, Ill./Central), who finished with a 9-over 225 (77-72-76).

Junior Kelsey Lindenschmidt (West Chester, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) marked the third Wildcat to finish par-or-better on the afternoon, tying her season-best with an even-par 72 and rounding out the Bryan National with a 13-over 229 (76-81-72). Freshman Anne Ormson (Granger, Ind./St. Anthony's), competing in her first collegiate tournament, closed out the final day of competition in style with a career-best 1-over 73, checking in with a 22-over 238 (80-85-73).

The even-par 288 was the fourth in Northwestern program history, matching a pair of rounds at the 2007 Mountain View Collegiate and the 2001 Lady Northern. It was one stroke off the program-best 287 set at the 2005 Mountain View Collegiate. The Wildcats also notched a sub-300 round for the second consecutive day and the 13th time in the 2009-10 season.

Northwestern finished ahead of a pair of both ACC and SEC schools, including Virginia, Auburn, Arkansas and North Carolina State. The Wildcats were just two shots off the pace of ninth-place South Carolina (29-over 893) and five back of eighth-place LSU (26-over 890).

Florida State won the 2010 Bryan National by one stroke, shooting a 9-over 873 to hold off second-place Wake Forest (10-over 874). Big Ten rival Ohio State (22-over 886) finished in a three-way tie for third-place with Duke and Vanderbilt, two shots better than both Tennessee and North Carolina (24-over 888) in sixth-place.

Northwestern now turns its sights to its final tune-up before the Big Ten Championships, traveling to Columbus, Ohio, for the 2010 Lady Buckeye Invitational. The opening 36 holes are scheduled to take place Saturday, April 17 with the final round set to take place Sunday, April 18.
