An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in SchoolTM, the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities. The finalists were chosen by a media committee from the list of 30 candidates who were announced in February.

Pauly is a three-time All-Big Ten and NFCA All-Region first-team selection who has started all 194 games the Wildcats have played during her career at second base. Pauly ranks third in program history with 47 home runs while ranking in the top 10 in six other offensive categories. So far in 2010, Pauly has 17 RBIs and is slugging .563. Of her 19 hits, 12 have been for extra bases and seven have been home runs.

Active in the community, Pauly has been coaching youth softball every summer dating to high school. She is very active in the Girls in the Game program in Chicago. She visits Children's Memorial Hospital and participates in food drives and other charitable ventures of the Northwestern athletic department.

In the classroom, Pauly is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree as a human development and psychological services major. She already has accepted a graduate assistant coaching position at another school to further her education after graduating with a Northwestern degree.
