2010 Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational Final Results
AUSTIN, Texas -- Northwestern wrapped up its trip to the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational with a 12th-place showing, finishing the three-day tournament with a 70-over 934. The Wildcats posted a 31-over 319 on the final day of competition, holding off both Washington and UC Davis by four strokes.
Sophomore Kylie Fuller (Temecula, Calif./Chapparal) posted a team-best 4-over 76 over the final 18 holes and was the top Northwestern competitor, finishing with a 16-over 232 (74-82-76). It is the third overall tournament, and second-straight, in which Fuller has finished at the top of the Wildcat scorecard, defeating freshman teammate Lauren Weaver (Scottsdale, Ariz./Cactus Shadows) by one shot. Weaver posted a 7-over 79 and was a 17-over 233 (75-79-79) for the tournament.
Junior Kelsey Lindenschmidt (West Chester, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) and sophomore Alexandra Lederhausen (Hinsdale, Ill./Central) each shot a 10-over 82 in the final round, with Lindenschmidt finishing at 20-over 236 (74-80-82) while Lederhausen posted a 12-over 238 (79-77-82). Freshman Mei Liu (Austin, Texas/Lake Travis) rounded out the Northwestern scorecard with a 23-over 241 (78-78-85) in her collegiate debut.
Northwestern, competing against arguably its toughest field of the season, began the day in 11th-place but slipped back one spot, finishing seven shots back of UT-Chattanooga (63-over 927) in 10th and an additional four strokes behind Notre Dame (66-over 930) . Second-ranked UCLA (20-over 884) held off eighth-ranked Arizona (26-over 890) to capture the team title with the Lonestar State trio of Texas A&M (33-over 897), TCU (37-over 901) and Texas (43-over 907) rounding out the top-five.
Up next for the Wildcats is a trip to Greensboro, N.C., to compete in the Bryan National Collegiate this weekend. The three-day tournament gets underway Friday, April 2 with the final round taking place on Sunday, April 4.
