2010 Big Ten Match Play All-Tournament Team and Results (PDF Format) ![]()
EVANSTON, Ill. -- The Big Ten Network will debut its coverage of this year's Big Ten Match Play Championship at 2:30 p.m. CT Sunday, March 14, with multiple re-air dates to follow. Northwestern won the tournament this season, defeating Wisconsin before downing No. 3 seed Michigan and No. 2 seed Iowa to reach the title match. There, the Wildcats put the first 6-0 sweep in the event's history on the Boilermakers of Purdue to take the crown.
Northwestern junior David Lipsky (La Canada, Calif./La Canada) and sophomore Eric Chun (Ansung City, South Korea/International Christian School) have been named to the 2010 Big Ten Match Play Championship All-Tournament team by a vote of the conference coaches.
Lipsky was a perfect 4-0 at the event and was named Big Ten Golfer of the Week following his efforts in leading Northwestern to the team championship this season. Chun finished 3-0-1 in his matches in 2010, and now is 7-0-1 for his career in the two-year-old tournament. The Wildcats are the winningest program so far in Match Play history, going 7-1 as a team.
